Friday Fettlings

It's Friday again, and I find myself writing another update about writing, a circular process, which is as entertaining as a kid on a merry-go-round.

There's real news this week with the publishing of Short Days, Shorter Stories 2.

So far, the Kindle and Paperback versions are up; the hardback option will follow any time soon.

A year has passed since my first anthology, and I confess I could and perhaps should have published sooner. I produce 600 words of Flash Fiction daily, and so I hit eighty thousand words in around four months

I am, however, determined to be more organised, so there will not be a year-long wait for Short Days, Shorter Stories 3. So, watch this space!

My only excuse for my tardiness is that I found myself distracted rewriting Dragons Unleashed and plotting that Vampire book series.

Oh, yes, and a new shorter-story every day!

I am now busy writing the Prequel for Dragons Unleashed, which is to be a novelette which will be free to read.

The concept of giving away a shorter story gratis is to encourage readers to entice and enthral them into the main book. Even if any of my great many readers, ahem, who are familiar with the tale of my novel Dragons Unleashed, I think they will find his novelette entertaining, and it'll be free, and everyone likes free stuff, right?

Starting in 410 of the book's calendar, four hundred and ten years after the city of Erock's founding, the book centres on intrigue leading up to the birth of the twins, around which the main narrative centres, and moves forward to events outside Shinar, that same year 411, including a visit to the fearsome albeit down on their luck, Giants and, further still, the Akicadan Empire. The last Chapter concept jumps to 418, six years before the first Chapter of Dragons Unleashed set in 424.

I have six thousand words or so written for the Prequel, so making good progress.

So now to finish the next Flash Fiction, which will follow in due course.

Thanks for reading.
